I'm not angry. I'm not mad. I don't hate anyone.
Now that you understand this, here is what I am. I'm concerned.
I am concerned for the moral fabric of our world. Now, before you say, 'wait a second Caleb, you don't need to impose your moral standard on my life.' I want you to understand I'm not. The moral standard I view life through does not start with me. It does not end with me. I did not come up with the moral standard upon which I see life through. It was presented to me through the pages of Scripture and those pages were inspired by the sovereign Creator.
There is a higher Supreme Being that composed or designed the moral law in which we are living under. Furthermore, God designed and made human beings in His likeness. We see this in the beginning of the Bible, Genesis 1:26-27
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
This is echoed again by JESUS Himself in Mark 10:6 But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’
So here is where and why I'm concerned. When a country collectively goes against what God has stated in his word, that country is in danger of His wrath. So when God says 'from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ and we as human beings say well, if that's not completely accurate and state things like: "The language we have around [gender identity] is rapidly expanding to accommodate for the wide variety of gender identities and expressions out there," [source Women's Health] I firmly believe we are on the edge of being destroyed by God Almighty.
I don't say this with glee or happiness. Rather, I say it with concern and a tone of gravity. What our nation is doing is in essence saying "God you don't know what you're doing, we know better."
This is incredibly dangerous ground to walk on. If we are not careful I'm concerned that we are about to pass the point of no return.
You might be asking, how did I come to that type of conclusion? Glad you asked, I read 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 11 So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. 12 Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.
So the people are who part of the transgender/LGBTQ community will stand in the streets and scream at the top of their lungs that what they are doing is right. A female pastor of a trans/LGBTQ affirming church here in town wrote in a social media post "The Bible does not condemn anyone for being lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer + or a Drag Queen...' I'm not sure where she's getting this. This is why I'm concerned, we have a growing number of leaders who stand in the public square and say things like this...when the Bible is very clear that God will condemn those who are partaking in this particular sin.
Romans 1:26-32
24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. 25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.
28 Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. 29 Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. 30 They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. 31 They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. 32 They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.
That kind of language is VERY clear. So this church leader is believing and proclaiming lies to the world around her. So this is why I'm concerned that we are on the edge of no return. Leaders in our land are believing lies! They are taking pleasure in evil rather than believing the truth.
So what are as Christians to do? Ephesians 5:11-14 gives us our direction:
11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. 13 But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, 14 for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said,
“Awake, O sleeper,
rise up from the dead,
and Christ will give you light.”
Expose sin so that it might be repented of and Christ would give light to those who are exposed.
How do we do this? The same way Jesus did.
Mark 1:15 15 “The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”
Proclaim to people that they need to repent or turn away from their sins and believe in the GOSPEL (or Good News) of the person and work of who JESUS is. This means you have to have conversations. I know that's the hardest part. It's hard for me and I'm a pastor. The most loving thing to do is to warn people of what is coming if they continue in their sin.
So once again, I'm not angry. I'm not mad. I don't hate anyone. Quite to the contrary. I love people so much I'm trying to let them know that the direction they are heading is going to end up destroying them not building them up.
Please don't think what I'm doing is trying to impose my lifestyle on you. I'm not. I'm just trying to help people understand that God has already laid out the lifestyle we should be living in and we need to surrender to what he's told us to do. Turn from your sins and trust Jesus today.
