Last night I was invited to preach at Tuesday night event and right before I got up to preach, the electricity went out in the church. The event organizers didn't miss a beat, they handed me a lantern and said ‘shine the light.’ I walked up on the platform and began to preach and something came to mind while I was preaching and I said ‘when we love our sin more than we love Christ we’ll do everything in our power to stay in the dark, because sin loves darkness. I went on further and said ‘the only thing that will dispel darkness in the corners of our hearts and lives is the bright shining light of the GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST.’
Someone took this photo last night and I thought it encapsulated that very idea. The only thing that will transform a human being’s heart is the light of the Biblical GOSPEL of Jesus.
Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” John 8:12
Wherever you go this week, shine the light of the Gospel of Jesus to those you encounter. BE BRIGHT!
